How do you feel now that you have passed the exam?

Now that I have finished, I feel excited to join Salesian Setagaya. Their classes are very unique compared to other schools, and I have heard that they strongly support students who want to enter universities overseas. I am happy that this school can help me achieve my dream of studying abroad.

How was the exam?

I was happy to pass all the exams for the top three schools that I aimed for. I think Salesian Setagaya was the most difficult exam, especially the essay. It was difficult to think of a solution for the problem that they presented. I also wasn’t confident about a few of my math questions, and during the interview, they asked me questions about difficult topics like business and the future of AI, so when I was able to pass after the first try, I was really happy.

How do you feel studying at GLICC helped you pass the exam?

GLICC taught me a lot of important exam techniques, like how to structure an essay properly, how to work quickly, and the method of scanning texts and answering questions quickly. Without understanding and practicing these skills, I would never have been able to pass the exam.

Was there anything you particularly liked about the lessons at GLICC?

The teachers are easy to get along with and always helped me when I needed it. The topics that we covered in classes were also really interesting, and we had some great discussions. I also liked the community at GLICC. There are many students speaking English before and after class, so I could make many good friends.

What was something you felt like you improved during your time here?

In GLICC classes, we covered a range of skills and practiced how to improve each one, including reading, writing, listening, and discussion. I feel like I improved in all of these areas, but also I became more confident when expressing my thoughts and opinions in general.

What advice would you give to future students who also want to attend Salesian?

I think it is important to have a good foundation of how to write an essay, and they need to practice it a lot. The time to write an essay in exams is very short, so you need to be prepared to plan, write, and express your ideas quickly in a short period of time. It is also important to study math and reasoning, because the questions were very difficult, even for students who are confident with their reasoning skills.

Would you recommend GLICC to other students who want to get into Salesian?

Of course! GLICC lessons cover all the types of skills you would need to get into any school. The teachers also give really honest feedback, which helped me understand what I should improve.

What are you most excited about for your new school?

I am excited to have the opportunity to meet people from diverse backgrounds and expand my knowledge.
